Yesterday, I started at home quite early – actually it was only 7 degrees and heavily raining. Not the best conditions to jump on a 1000 km ride!

Anyway, my plan was fixed and there was no other choice: leaving at 07:00 in order to pick up my own bike after its last service before being shipped to South America. Thanks to the great team of Moto Mader for perfectly preparing the bike – well done! Everything works well and even the error message because of low pressure in the tires doesn’t occur any longer. This would be annoying when going off-road with only 1.8 bar 🤪

When leaving from Oberentfelden (CH) towards Hamburg (DE), I got the chance to test my rain gear for approximately 2 hours. It was heavily raining, bloody cold, but I remained dry under all covers; that’s good to know 😁
After 200 km the rain stopped and sun was shining; at least in my mirrors while driving north

After approximately 500 km I realised that I could ride to Vivi instead of Hamburg harbour. Believe me or not: that was a very challenging situation 🥰

On my approach to Hamburg, I passed an area I am quite familiar with: Hannover (studied there for nearly 6 years). Lot‘s of feelings – good and bad – but no desires 😂

Finally, I arrived in Hamburg harbour at 20:30, where Timo offered me a stay on board of „Wilma HF 329“. It’s such a lovely boat, pure history, charming and linked to so much stories and emotions. Thank you Timo for your warm welcome and all the hospitality! I just realised the beauty when getting up next morning:

Not to forget: I slept well but always interrupted while trying to reflect my 950 something km ride: during this, I was smiling (whenever thinking of Vivi), was sad (when realising I cannot see her in my mirrors), was singing and silent, tired and awake, freezing and sweating, … the full bouquet of emotions!
This morning, I left my motorbike at the harbour – hoping to see her again in about 2 months in Chile

Now sitting at the airport and waiting for my flight back to Zürich, it’s a strange feeling: curious, happy, sad, nervous, proud, … let’s see what upcoming weeks will bring to me!?
