At the end of the year at the end of the world

I started my journey approximately 4 weeks ago. The initial idea was spending roughly three months in South America; without any particular aim and only enjoying the way every day. While travelling „solo“ in Chile and Argentina, I made countless experiences – good and less good ones – saw marvellous nature and spectacular landscapes, met many locals and other travellers, made new friends, felt pleasure and pain, and finally was desiring more and more a direction that brings me closer home again. A turning point. A landmark and/or point in time that indicates: now you are going home.

While riding through the veld of Tierra del Fuego, this feeling became way stronger. Why should somebody drive hours and hours in an area, where wind is blowing away every life, no humans have settled and nothing is worth stopping and looking at it? It’s too complex describing the reflection that you go through, and it’s also impossible to find good words expressing the mode and feelings during that kind of ride. The only thing I can tell you: it’s definitely worth it and you cannot imagine the overwhelming feelings when you reach your turning point.

At the end of the year, I reached the end of the world! It was exactly 22 minutes after the noon of the last day of the year 22 – a magic moment!

Now, I go home looking forward into a bright future: stronger than before, clearer in mind, persuaded to reach every aim – together with Vivi, who was there all the time. THANK YOU!
