Back on track

Some of you probably have recognised that I was silent here for quite a while. The reason was neither idleness nor stopping somewhere without any internet, but some issues and challenges I had to solve.

When I started the trip to Torres del Paine at the beginning of January, I was hit by bad news: Narnia, my mare at home, got sick, had to be send to the clinics, and finally lost her foal after 6 months of pregnancy. This was a very stressful as well as emotional time for me (and others) and the last thing I was thinking about was posting nice pictures and videos here.

Next to this, the 13000 km of distance between Vivi and myself became a burden no longer justifying the value of extending this journey for several more weeks. Of course, you can have phone calls or even video calls, but at a certain point we realised that “enough is enough”. Thus I changed the plans – as you do here in South America multiple times a day – and took a shortcut to Santiago, organised the shipment of my bike and booked a flight to Leipzig

Two good news:

1. Narnia is back in here stable; healthy and well ☺️

2. I will post all other highlights during the last days of my trip in due time – you won’t be disappointed 😉

  1. Lieber Heiko,

ich mag dir mein Mitgefühl für Narnia und den Verlust des Fohlens aussprechen – gut, dass sie wieder gesund und zu Hause ist!

    Eine gute Heimreise wünscht Barbara
